Mr. Clarence Epps Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clarence “Pop” Epps, Sr. was born on September 12, 1934, the fifth out of 14 children in Union, South Carolina to the union of Roscoe Epps Sr. and Gustavia (Sartor) Epps. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Roscoe Jr, Lewis, James, and William; and his son, Cur- tis. He entered eternal rest on Sunday July 31, 2022 at home. Clarence accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Thomas Chapel AME Church in Union, South Carolina. He retired from Union Mill and the United State Forest Service. He was an avid farmer, loved to garden, and loved to help everyone. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory ;. his loving wife Gladys May Savage Epps of 66 years. To this union they added four children, Clar- ence (Janie) Epps, Author (Deborah) Epps, Clarissia (Jeff) Epps, and Curtis Epps who preceded him in death. He was blessed with six grand- children Brandi, Brittney, Curtis, Shuntavia, Desmond, and Termaine; and one great grandchild Da’Jorian. He has five brothers Leroy (Marge) Epps, John Epps, Albert (Mary) Epps, Terry (Lucille) Epps and Edward Epps; four sisters Clara May Stuckey, Corrine (Eugene) Sims, Gussie (Benjamin) Thompson, and Marie (Jerome) Rutherford. His memory will also be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; sisters-in-law Rose, Virginia, Doretha (Joe), Mattie Mary and Gin; and brother-in-law Michael Savage(Betty); as well as the Peake family. Visitation will be noon until 6-pm, Friday, August 5th, 2022. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at Thomas Chapel AME Church, 1326 Tinker Creek Road, Union, SC. Professional arrangements entrusted to Divine Mortuary.
