Mrs. Joyce Humphries Land

December 25, 1943 - January 13, 2021

Joyce Humphries Land, 77, of 1817 Jonesville Highway departed this earthly life on January 13, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 25, 1943 to the late Rose Lee (Purvis) Crank of Union, SC and the late Albert Coleman of Charlotte, NC. She was a graduate of Sims High School, Class of 1963. She was a domestic worker for over 25 years. She was a member of the Johnson Chapter #305 (Order of Eastern Stars) in Union County. To know Joyce was to love her. She loved people, her beloved family, and was a God-fearing woman. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and previously attended Paradise A.M.E Church. She was a singing member of the Kelly Singers and the Voices of Faith. She leaves to cherish fond memories: Her husband, Beauregard Land of Union; one son Elvin Humphries of Union. Two Daughters; Wanda (Eddie) Buchanan of Union and Michelle (Kelvin) Means of Jonesville. Five brothers: Jesse (Melody) Crank, James Crank, Reginald (Sharon), Ferndinand, and Jonathan Shelton all of Union, SC. One sister, Christine (Charles) Lott; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Harry Humphries; five brothers; Purvis, Alfonzo, Henry, and Ruben Crank and Bruce Coleman; three sisters, Alice C. Green, Alberta Ancrum and Willie Mae Williams; brother-in-law Jackie Green and a sister-in-law Hazel Crank. We will forever love and miss you dearly, but we know you are in a better place. No more sorrow, no more pain. Visitation will be held on Saturday from Noon until 6:00 P.M. at Divine Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Pacolet River Baptist Association Building, Lovers Lane Road, Union, SC at 2:30 P.M. Mrs. Land will be placed in the Association Building at 1:30 P.M. to await the hour of service. Interment will be in Union Memorial Garden, Whitmire Highway.
