Mr. Morris Bobo Jr.

January 20, 1938 - January 21, 2015

Morris (Sonnie) Bobo Jr. of 205 Old Buffalo Rd. Union, SC answered the Master's call on January 21, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Morris Bobo Sr. and Pansy Gallman Bobo. Morris was born in Union SC on January 20,1938. He was educated in the Union County Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Sims High School. He is survived by his wife: Charlie Mae Jennings Bobo of the home: one daughter: Mia J. Bobo Edwards (Troy Jr.) of Charlotte, NC. One son: Morris Terrell Bobo (Christian) of Boiling Springs, SC. Five Grandchildren: Kinshassa A.Jefferies, Jerjuan L. Edwards, JustiseT. Bobo, Jessia Smith and Chelsea E. Dunlap and the Dunlap Family. Two Godchildren: Linda M. Dunlap and Margaret Smith both of Union, SC. Brother -in-laws: Rev. Charles Jennings, Jr. of Cross Keys, SC and Mr. James F. Jennings of Union, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Morris repaired Radios and TVs and dispatched cab service. He was retired from Torrington Company after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Widow Son Lodge #34, Bethlehem Chapter #196 O.E.S. where he was Associate Patron. He is a former member of Royal Arch and Tamin Temple #155. He was charter member of New Horizon United Christian Church where he served as a Steward, a member of the Men's Choir, and the Musical Choir. He attended Sunday School and Mid-Week bible Study. He is also a member of The Sunrise Gospel Singers. He was baptized at Corinth Baptist Church as a teenager and also attended St. Paul Baptist Church. As Morris' health began to fail, there were those who helped him and his family: Barry Hopkins, Leroy and Maxine Dunlap, Joseph Harper, Ernest Talley, his godchildren and Jennifer Wicker. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM on Saturday, and on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 at the Divine Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at New Horizon United Christian Church, Union, SC at 2:00 PM. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM to await the hour of service. Divine Mortuary, 190 Lovers Lane Road Union, SC has charge of the professional arrangements.
